Commemorating Hemet coming together to save a historic landmark, and a glimpse into the past that shaped Hemet as a Community
At the crossroads of two train tracks, where the history of the Southern Pacific Railroad, meets a modern city that emerges from what was once a small retirement community for seniors and a stopover for celebrities going to Palm Springs from Hollywood. It’s marked today by the Hemet Museum, the culmination of the efforts of current City Councilwoman Linda Krupa and the late Bill Jennings and his surviving spouse Ann and a handful of other organizations and individuals in the valley.
Hemet Museum Celebrates its 20th year in operation in an event slated for the 3rd of November at the Museum from 11:30am to about 3pm.
Several presentations, a raffle, and live music will on the docket for the event. Included will be presentations about water-wise landscaping by the Master Gardeners of Riverside County and Brian Christie will talk about Sailplane Enterprises an organization familiar to many longtime residents of Hemet and those who have had any amount of time spent at the Hemet Ryan airport in the past several decades.
